Criminal Solicitor - Newly Qualified / to 2 Years PQE

Location: Coventry, West Midlands

Salary Range: Depends on experience

The Criminal Department of a 70 strong private practice has an immediate vacancy for a Criminal Solicitor to work as part of a team of ten, comprising three solicitors, three accredited representatives and administrative support staff.

The role will appeal to a newly qualified solicitor keen to specialise in Criminal Law, or an individual with up to two years PQE Criminal Law experience.

You will be involved with all aspects of criminal defense work from minor traffic offences to serious crimes including murder.

As with most criminal appointments, you will be expected to work out of hours and be on call for emergency cases, police station visits, etc.

The Criminal Department also handles cases involving young people, including those representing parents and children in care proceedings.

The role calls for a thorough understanding of Criminal Law together with the inter-personal skills necessary to deal effectively and sympathetically with a diverse range of clients from a variety of backgrounds.
