Decluttering For The Mind
I took an unusual step this morning and wrote to the admin of a popular domain forum asking to close my membership.
Normally, if I don't like a place for some reason, I just quietly disappear. Actually ENDING something though, brings about closure and prevents you from being sucked back into time wasting discussions.
Decluttering the mind is essential if you're to grow. I prefer my own path, it's quiet, it's peaceful and I can do what the heck I like.
I also closed my own board and that felt good too :)

That's a good reminder on finishing things, ending to move on to the next. Out of curiosity, why close your membership on the popular domain forum?
Actually, by the time the morning was over, I ended my membership at all but two domain forums.
The reason was simply down to the fact that I was spending more and more time reading stuff that doesn't interest me, posted in large, by people who's only comments seem to be negative.
I don't mix with negative people in real life and I don't want them near me in places where I go for inspiration.
David,
Glad to see we are still able to interact/communicate with you via your blog. I really missed being able to connect with you.
Cheers! on the Business 2.0 Article.

Thanks Chris, you know where I am!
I'm an active participant at both NamePros.com and DNForum.com. I know that some members get into vicious arguments but I stay way from those types of threads altogether. I like participating in threads like, "Sharing Monetization Tips" or "Best hand-regs of the day", that kind of thing. I spend perhaps an hour a day there and I enjoy it. Also, when I'm planning a blog post I sometimes start a related forum thread to get ideas. I've picked up some good tips, not to mention the name of my blog, which I bought off someone at NamePros.
