Portalfeeder Wakes Sleeping Marketer At 5 a.m.

In December 2005, I put up a page on my site about Portalfeeder. It had just been launched by Jason Potash and Mark Quarles. They are good guys and certainly know how to market a product.

As I'd bought some of their products previously (and since), I thought I'd give Portalfeeder a go.

It's 5:20a.m. as I write this blog. I couldn't sleep.

Something has been bugging me.

Portalfeeder.

Yesterday, I was bombarded with Portalfeeder emails.

It seems all the big name marketers are jumping on the portalfeeder bandwagon. Of course they are! They want the commission that goes with introducing a big-ticket sale. Portalfeeder 2 has been released! Hurrah!

Also, I checked my site stats before I went to bed last night and noticed a significant number of visits coming from Google for the search term, "Portalfeeder" - go on, try it yourself. Pop the word "portalfeeder" into Google and see what you find.

Page upon page of testimonials have been written so it must be good!

So I figured, "Do I need to buy into a system that can secretly get me to the top of Google?

Do I need to understand how to write articles? Do I need to understand about the power of blogging?

There comes a time in every Internet wannabe's life when they have to start saying "NO" to overhyped marketing letters that arrive daily.

Portalfeeder woke me up early because I remembered that people were looking at an old article I wrote when I first joined the program. They might buy into it, thinking that I am recommending it. That wouldn't necessarily be a good thing - especially not if I hadn't posted an affiliate link!

My aim at that time was to stick with it and let everyone know how great it was. I like sharing good ideas and spreading the word about things that work and make people money.

What happened?

Well, I had removed the original web page, but Google remembered something that I didn't - the article was still on my server. I'd removed it from the navigation, but had left the page up!

The original article is still there, but I woke up early and made a few amendments, because I was losing sleep over it!

See my original portalfeeder article and today's amendment here and remember, sometimes, you just have to try things for yourself.

Products like Portalfeeder might be good for you. At several thousand dollars a year per user, it's certainly good for Mark Quarles and Jason Potash. Good luck to them I say. Wish I'd thought of it!

If only I could get to the top of Google....
