Reverse Auction – How To Play

David Carter’s reverse auction is a fun competition where you can win a great domain name by bidding pennies. The lowest unique bid at the end of the auction wins the name.

This means that as well as being the lowest bid, your bid also has to be the only one at that price when the auction closes.

Registering Online

To play, you will need to register by selecting a nick name and entering your email address.

Once you have completed your registration, you will receive a confirmation email requesting that you click on the confirmation link. Once you have completed this step, your registration will be complete.

You can play online from anywhere in the world by purchasing auction credits in £1 denominations.

Each credit entitles you to one bid and the more you buy, the cheaper they are.

Payment for credits is made via Paypal and all transactions are made in UK Pounds – Paypal automatically works out the exchange rate, so it doesn’t matter which country you are in.

Once you have purchased your credits, you will be taken to a screen where you may enter your bid(s).

If your bid is not unique, the system will tell you in the section "bidding history", allowing you to place an alternative bid.

Please note that only YOUR bids are shown in this area, nobody else's.

If your bid is unique, but later, somebody else enters the same amount, the system will email you (if you opt to receive notifications), or you can login at any time during the auction to check on the status of your bids, which will show as Unique, Not Unique or Unique Lowest

At the end of the auction, the person with the lowest unique bid will win the domain name and their user name will appear in the winners list.
