Q: Who Currently Owns The Domain Names Offered For Auction?

A: Names placed in the auction will usually be offered direct from David Carter's (or one of his companies) own portfolio. However, in certain circumstances we may partner with another owner in order to sell a domain name, in which case, we will state this on the live auction page, along with the registrant's details.

Q: How Do I Know If I have The Unique Lowest Bid?

A: Just check your bidding history when you're logged in. From there, you can see whether your bid is unique, not unique, or is in fact the current lowest bid. (Lowest unique bid will only show when a certain number of bids have been placed in the system).

Q: If I win, Do I Have To Pay The Amount I Bid?

A: No, the aim of the auction is to guess the unique lowest bid. The combined entry fees are actually paying for the domain name.

Q: If I Buy A Block Of Bids, Can I Carry Unused Bids To Another Reverse Auction?

A: No, they must be used in the current auction. All credits are set to expire once an auction ends. This is because the price of auction credits may differ from auction to auction, depending on the quality of the domain name being offered.

Q: How Many People Can Bid On A Name?

A: There is no limit to the number of players. If only one person takes part and places one bid, the name will be transferred to that person at the end of the reverse auction - that's our risk!

Q: What Domain Name Extensions Will Be Auctioned?

A: We are only placing .com, .co.uk and .net names into the reverse auctions.

Q: There Is A Valuation Placed Next To Each Name On Auction. Is There A Cash Alternative?

A: No cash alternatives are available and the "valuation" provided is simply a notional value based on expected selling price by the owner, which is entirely subjective of course. The name could be worth more or less than the notional value indicated.

Q: Could I Make A Cash Offer For A Name Prior To An Auction Starting?

A: Cash offers are not accepted on domain names entered into the auction. This is to protect those bidders who register and purchase auction credits, expecting to take part in the auction for that particular name.

Q: Can I Bid Using SMS?

A: Not at present

Q: Can You Sell One Of My Names Via Your Reverse Auction?

A: No, the only names we list are those in our direct control and/or ownership. This is to avoid any issues with name transfer, escrows, etc.

Q: Can I opt out of receiving email notifications of bidding progress?

A: Yes, just untick the "receive bid confirmation email" in the Edit Profile area.

Q: Can I buy the auction system for use on my own site?

A: Yes, our developers will be pleased to provide a very reasonable quotation. Please email info "AT" hollywood-internet.com for more information
